What our guests are saying…

This home is exactly what we expected from the listing. We loved the view of the harbor in the morning and hanging out on the porches. Susan’s communication was fantastic and we had no issues. The bathroom and soaker tub is a spa-like dream! The location is great, too. We were able to walk everywhere. You will love it here!

Blue Harbor View may be the best Airbnb that I’ve ever stayed at (and I’ve stayed at about 2 dozen). The location is great; it is a short walk into town and there are great views of the sunrise. My bed was very comfortable and the kitchen is amazingly well equipped. I couldn’t recommend it more and I hope to come back.

Explore the Upper Peninsula in All Seasons

Hiking Trails

Make your stay laid back and quiet or fill it with over-the-top outdoor adventures. View cliff diving, visit swimming beaches, and hiking trails along the Lake Superior shore are minutes away.

Experience a pristine Lake Superior beach at Little Presque Isle a few miles north of the city. Walk Wetmore Landing trails that straddle the forest and shore filled with the scent of pine. To engage with Lake Superior for first-time visitors is a magical experience.

Climb the Heights in Season

Climb Sugarloaf, Hogback, and Mount Marquette
Sugarloaf Mountain is located about six miles north of downtown and is a local favorite. With century-old trees and rock outcroppings, it is a gorgeous hike. At the top is a stunning view of Lake Superior and Marquette.

Climb to the top of Mount Marquette—or drive. Either way, the view of the city below and the lake is expansive and not to be missed.

Hogback Mountain is a strenuous climb. Wear hiking boots. In some places, you’re climbing on rock. Another spectacular view.

Fall in the Upper Peninsula

The Upper Peninsula is a favorite destination for fall color-seekers. The first reds appear in August but by mid-September, the U.P. is a show of reds, oranges, yellows, purples, and greens. It is breathtaking.

Take a day trip to the Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park for scenic views overlooking the Lake of the Clouds. Stop near the park entrance for a short hike to Manabehzo Falls.

Tahquamenon Falls might be the most visited of the over 200 waterfalls in the U.P. The Upper Falls, one of the largest waterfalls east of the Mississippi, has a drop of nearly 50 feet, more than 200 feet across, and a water flow of more than 50,000 gallons per second.

Winter!

Winter in the Upper Peninsula offers abundant choices to enjoy our snow season. You don’t have to be an expert to cross-country ski on local trail networks. There are trails for beginners to advanced skiers. Snowshoe or hike the trails after sunset with a headlamp for a magical experience in the Northwoods. Don’t be surprised if you encounter a fat tire biker on the trails.

While you’re here, visit The U.S. Ski & Snowboard Hall of Fame and Museum in Ishpeming, the birthplace of organized skiing in the U.S.
